You say roll rates are the only thing affect by spring rates... If the body rolls, weight has to be carried off of one side, and supported by the other. Damn, that sounds a lot like weight transfer to me!
The whole reason for stiffer springs to begin with isn't to increase how much weight a tire or side can "see" through weight transfer, it's to make it so the car is under a lot more corner speed, side loading, lateral force, etc, before the car's handling is upset. You're widening the threshold.
