It's called brain capacity, and that guys ran out very early into that coversation.

Instead of debating with him, you should find some way to capitalize on his stupidity. hahaha.

I usually just drop it or ignore the person (so they go away) after about 2 seconds.

Very entertaining thread guys. Keep it up!

Personally I know my car wouldn't keep up your Civics and Miatas in an Autocross and thus I know not to run my mouth. But everyone can't be that humble I guess.

I learned to be humble the first event I went to back in 98. My buddies (at the time) and I were laughing at a Subaru Legacy GT that was running. "Why is a station wagon here?" etc etc.

They guy whom I didn't know til after the event was a National type competitor. Who I think won some National Tours and Divisional events, Richard West.

He posted a time in that stock station wagon about 10 seconds faster than anyone of my friends (some even have turboed Civics) I learned to shut up after that.

hehe, I run STS2...will be in SM2 if I go ahead with the t25 turbo project I'm working on...so I'll chime in.

Miatas are going to be faster in SM2...its just how it works, unless you really want to spend the money, or your just really, really go.

I put a low end turbo or S/C setup, get some wide ass 13x8 rims, full race tires, throw some good shocks, springs, new mount/bumpstops and a nasty front sway, an alignment, and then do some bracing and LSD and my car would be extremely competitive locally in SM2, and thats about 3-4 grand total in the car. This is assuming I'm building it to be a street car as well, b/c you can build an SM2 miata thats just for auto-x a lot cheaper, but it wouldn't be very nice or very streetable.

The miata is good, but its not unbeatable, but you shouldn't be expecting to jump into a steet modified class your first season and beat them.

STS2, yeah, its possible.

Andy Hollis is doing one hell of a job w/ his budget miata racer against the hondas in STS2 this year...

Andy Hollis could win with a donkey cart. That is if they made any two seater versions with 1.8 L engines.
