Hopefully it will give the Mini Cooper S a run for it's money. But I highly douby it. The new Si is 200-300lbs heavier than the S, longer wheelbase (good or bad), but it can fit fatter tires.

I think for the kind of courses that you see in autocross, that weight dist and overall weight will be much more decisive factors than power, so I would also say the Mini will probably still have the edge.

so the mini cooper S is the best in the Autocross?

Noob :) There are so many classes and so many different cars that any car can be a winner. Autocross is all about the driver not the car.

Unless the best drivers also have the "car to have" for whatever class you're competing in. Then, you need the car to have, too.

Sez the guy who's going after Minis in HS next year! :screwy:

On a local level, CivicSiRacer is right - it's all driver. Just get out there with whatever you've got and work on improving your driving first.

I wonder if the NEW civic Si can beat the RSX Type S?

On paper it should. The RSX Type S is now in GS too I believe. The new Si has a LSD where the RSXS does not.

round these parts the guys with the EF SIs post the FTD typically (on index). but we have some ridiculously fast drivers in our region (many national level and champ drivers)

Yup I was one of those EF drivers. I haven't gotten fastest PAX or FTD in awhile (since 2001), but this year I did it on a number of occassions.

My best was when I showed up to a Corvette club autocross and was fastest car by over 10 seconds :)

any word on what the lease is going to be on this car? considering it if the car is competitive.
