Hopefully it will give the Mini Cooper S a run for it's money. But I highly douby it. The new Si is 200-300lbs heavier than the S, longer wheelbase (good or bad), but it can fit fatter tires.

I think for the kind of courses that you see in autocross, that weight dist and overall weight will be much more decisive factors than power, so I would also say the Mini will probably still have the edge.

There are so many classes and so many different cars that any car can be a winner. Autocross is all about the driver not the car.

On a local level, CivicSiRacer is right - it's all driver. Just get out there with whatever you've got and work on improving your driving first.
