I'm running 40psi (front) on a 2100lbs Civic with Falken Azenis running 25psi is WAY TOO LOW. And to show you I run 40psi on my Hoosiers which are R tires. And both those tires have stiff sidewalls. For the rear I run about 35-38psi depending on how much rotation I want.
i completely agree... my answer 'yes' to his quote was about overinflation, not under. i would never agree with under.

i seem to be one of the few that run higher than normal.

some pressures:
-Accord with Hoosiers: 41 psi front, 37 rear
-Civic w/v710's: we took several temp readings across the tire and ended up running 36 front, 38 rear
-Civic w/azenis: 40 front/ 37 rear
-Friend's accord with suspension not optimized: i have him run 42 psi front/ 49 rear.

at 46 or 47, the pressure gets to the point where it loses traction. this helps rotation.

as far as 25psi.. i have not and probably never will go there.

Well also realize that I have a CRX HF front sway bar and a super large rear sway bar. Front of my car is going to dive alot more so I need a bit more pressure.

Thanks for the help, I will just keep practicing for right now and look into autopower rollbar and harnesses. I am also getting somev 15" rota circuit 8 with azenis, because my current setup is almost worn out and wheels are heavy! and we all know unsprung weight is bad! I was thinking about getting a rear swaybar too though.

the 25 psi was for rear tires ONLY, I thought that although stciky in drag situation, in a cornering situation the tires would not stick thus leading to better rotation. I guess I was wrong, but this is just what I have heard, thanks for correcting my incorrect ideas.

1st you don't need a roll bar, it's just added weight which slows you down.

If you go 25 in the back with 40-45 in the front your car is going to be pretty hard to control. It's going to oversteer on every turn. I would follow my suggestions above.

And maybe you didn't read what I suggested (about your sway bar):

what do you think of the current plan, and what would you recommend as the next upgrade, besides driver education, which I am planning on, but for now I just practice at events.

Nothing. Newbies and others I know change too many things at once and never really get used to their car. Most get frustrated and others keep changing things. I have not changed one thing on any of my cars because once you get used to your car and comfortable with it you are so much quicker.
Cause I bet you $100 I will be faster in your stock car than you with $5000 invested in your car.

Hey Siracer, do you spray your tires with cold water between runs, I have the rt615 and they are great so far. The temps tomorrow are supposed to be almost 90 degrees, I have heard that the azenis gets warm and loses some grip.

So far I thought my 615s wouldn't need spraying, but they do. Just like the old Azenis. So yes spray them til they are cold.

I tried 40 psi in front and 35 psi in back and it rotated pretty nice. I am going to try 45 psi in front next time and 37 psi in back, because the shoe polish was showing that the pressures should be slightly higher. Overall the autocross was great fun and I am going to next one as well. I am also going to stay with my same basic setup and develop my driving and get used to the car.

That's too much of a jump in pressures. Get used to the 40/35 for a couple events. Then maybe try 41f/36r and go up 1psi every so often til you feel good. Jumping from 40 to 45 is too much and the car will be different.
