Call the NC SCCA region and ask them if they have local chapters. Most of them do and if not you can ask what it takes to start your own club. Besides I've driven anywhere from 30 minutes to 4.5 hrs to attend an event this year.

Right now my friend and I are seriously considering starting a branch of the NCRSCCA. We still need to call them to find out what it takes (money, etc.) and we are also asking around to see if we would have enough people interested to start a club. But until then I'll just keep practicing. Here's the course layout of the one place that would let me use their parking lot (construction site of course). It's EXTREMELY small but beggers cant be choosers i guess. I'll find a big parking lot soon hopefully.

Realize though in order to get a good competitor base you need a good course. That course you showed is not one of those. If I paid to autocross on a course like that I would want my money back.

A good course should be large enough to be around 40 seconds long without going back on itself.
