Default Tein suspension, any success with them?

I'm thinking about trading out my worn Ground Controls and Koni Yellows and looking into Tein coilovers. I have two friends who have them on their WRX (forget which models) and rode in their cars and they cars felt great.

Any success on Hondas? If so which model?

for autocross, i wouldn't suggest anything less than the flex.. you might even want to swap out the rear springs to a higher rate...

if you're using r-comps, you might want to look into the ra's..

I am enjoying my flex. All i have is them and a front strut bar and everyone who has ridden in my car on the track enjoys them. Need a good rear swaybar to fully enjoy them.

my buddy had a civic si and got the "green" tein coilover system (don't remember the exact name)...he had his car put on a chassis dyno and it had progressive rates worse than the stock setup...don't know why but he could have ordered the wrong items and only to find out after $1000k is out of his pocket

Of course I want the best so I'm going ot get the best.

The N1 is the top of the line and abit out of my league.
Next one down is the RAs?
Then the REs?

tein also offers a line of relatively inexpensive replacement springs for all of their products. This way even if you get a lower model, as long as it has the valving you want you can make it work as well if not better than some of the higher ones by customizing the spring rates.

Other way around. Next is RE then RA's. Both seem to have the same spring rate 783/559. The RA seems to have more height adjustment.

How are your ground controls worn? It would probably be cheaper to send your koni's to have the revalved and rebuilt if they are worn out then to buy a set of tiens that would perform as well as the konis you have now. Call Lee @ Koni NA and talk to him he has a tone of knowledge, heck if you are going to nationals he we be there in the koni tent.

The Konis have been clunking alot the past year or so. I've had the suspension out to see what it is and nothing. Plus I've found wear spots where the brake lines have been rubbing the shaft. It's now rusted.

Plus I have two friends who are running Teins on their WRXs and the ride is great for street and competition, whereas mine is a bit punishing

That is probably more due to your spring rates that the acutaly shocks, unless you shocks are not vavled correctly for the springs. I would be if you use the same spring rates on the teins ride would just as punsihing.
