240 in a road race?
Talk to Tnord on Honda-tech.com, he roadraces a 240SX. I recently "started" building one up, and he was very, very helpful. Also check out the track forum on www.freshalloy.net, or the 240 forums for technical questions.
As far as a comparison between FWD and RWD in this case, I'm comparing my 14-year old 240 with KYB AGX shocks and Tein S-tech springs to my 4-year old Type R with Zeal B6s, so I was really disappointed by the 240. However, that's not saying they're incapable by any means, I'm just too spoiled by the stiffness in the R. And while it probably won't apply to your situation, the hopped up SR20DET is waaaaaay more powerful than my silly little B18C.

Hm, my stock 240 with Azenis weighs 2800lbs wet, on the track vs some ITR running Azenis and coilovers and unknown engine mods, he was 7 seconds faster than me on Streets of Willow.
Another GSR with coilovers and atleast an intake (noisy) and Azenis was 1-2 seconds faster than me on the same day.
imo a 240 is pretty damn heavy in full trim as mine is. Pound for pound, I think a stock GSR would be faster than my 240.
