They have some major KAHOONAS! Out of the 30'ish competitors that ran today. I think we had about 8 flat tires. Two of the cars got it twice! Two cars also found themselves on TWO WHEELS! The crowd went crazy on that one. Several guys I was talking to were from Bolivia and were 2002/2003 Bolivia Rally champions!
For those who do not know the ASCC in conjunction with the New England Region & Washington DC region hosted an invitation rallycross in the old Farm Show arena today.
The course was hard packed dirt (which eventually turned into soft mushy dirt. I was MC the hold day except for one heat where one of the rallycross drivers, Matt (driving a 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR4) took over so I could take pictures and videos. I even got to MC for the awards in the middle of the arena
There were 4 classes: 2-wheel drive stock, 4 wheel drive stock, 2 wheel drive modified, and 4 wheel drive modified. The 2wd stock class had a variety of cars: 2003 Mazda Protege, a Ford Escort, 1991 Celica GT. The 2wd modified class had more cars 1974 VW Kharma Ghia, an English Escort (right hand drive even), 1985 Toyota Corolla (AE86), Tercel. The 4wd stock class had a few cars mostly Subarus. The 4wd modified class was (I think) the biggest class: Subaru STi, Eagle Talon TSi, Toyota Tacoma, Jeep Cherokee, Subaru Legacys, etc.
And amazingly enough though the arena was pretty full on the one side. With all the crazy things going on I'm guessing it was too hot and humid to go outside and the one north hall was steaming hot. Event started at 10am and ended at 5pm. I also put some pamplets, brochures, and pictures out for the Susquehanna Region. I also tried to tell everyone in the Harrisburg, York, Lancaster area to come out to our next event in June.

Too far for me
I might have to sit out on the Philly one (even though I'm signed up) since one of my students is testing for her 2nd degree black belt.
