Here's me at the starting line getting ready to start a run. Nobody in my family knows how to use the digital camera well enough to get an action shot

this is the MGA proving grounds that Chrysler and AMC and a few other car companies used to use back in the day, we only got to use the skid pad:

go to the link, the chicagoland MG club is all brits, its a pretty cool club, but like every other SCCA meet theres some really crazy guys, some really cool guys, and some real rimjobs.

my dad has a 1978 MG midget, (MKII?), and a 1959 Austin-Healey Sprite, bugeye, (MKI?) putting out a whopping 47 hp off the production line.

I already went to the link, the healey sprites and the midgets were made on the same production line, the only differences are the bonnets, headlights and badges. They had closer to 70HP stock at the flywheel. You can build them up closer to 120 .

As for the mk's of the MG cars, it's much simpler to group them by chrome bumper cars, chrome w/ rubber overriders, and rubber bumper cars, since the only mechanical changes came with the different bumper changes to meet US safety laws.

I work on MG's at a restoration shop, and I must say, my favorite so far has to be a B owned by a customer that had this engine setup:

there was one a few weeks back in the MG mag where they had put like an 8 cylinder jaguar engine in it, i guess it just screamed. the figured they were putting out on power with a 1400 lb car was a bit silly...the writer was afraid to drive the thing.
