How do you "practice" for autocross...or seat time is hard to come by
Hi all,
I was wondering how you "practice" to get better at autocrossing...other than attending more events. Being able to attend only about 7 events a year...and getting 3, 45 second runs per event, makes accumulating seat time and experience a very slow process.
Are there any other ways some of you "practice?"
Thanks

autox school. also at just about every event I attended there was fun runs.
and I for one do not practice on the road. I even stopped doing back road runs out of respect for safety of others.

You have to find other regions that do more runs. I know within a 1.5-2 hour driving distance there are: Susquehanna Region, NEPA, Philly Region, South NJ Region, North NJ Region, Washington DC region, Lancaster County Corvette Club, and pushing it is NY Region. If you want more runs you just gotta travel more
I know the furtherest event I went to was last year at State College, PA. That was a 3.5 hour drive. Last year including the Mazda Rev It Up I did about 40 events last year.
I also stick around for fun runs which are usually $1 per run. So all in all I could almost get 8-12 runs in one day. All for about $25.
I also play alot of driving games, like now is Need For Speed Underground. I also do go-karting in the winter, and I'm also a Novice Autocross instructor, so I get LOTS of seat time there.... Sometimes too much where I get a headache from just being in the passenger seat all day
