I'm part of the Texas A&M Sports Car club, so I'll be Autocrossing with them 4 times a semester for the next 8 semesters. That would be 36 Autocrosses (including this past semester).

On top of that, the Houston Sports Car Club holds an Auto-X on the first Sunday of every month. that's 12 Auto crosses per year for the next 4 years. That would be 48 Autocrosses.

That's a maximum total 84 Autocrosses in the next 4 years! How would I be after all that seat time? Assuming that an average auto-x for me would be 4 minutes per event, how good would a person get after ~5.5 hours of Autocross seat time?

 

You should be quite good on the courses you will be running on. 'Seat time' will be reflected for the event type and you certainly have a plan. Have you considered mixing this with HPDE events where seat time of 20-30 minutes per session on track happens. Another event is karting and a number of pro drivers are using that as a way to get more time in.
No matter what you do you will benefit.

haha, it's a Student organization, so it won't interfere...

 

I plan on attending events at the two local SCCA regions. SF region holds 2 seasons and sac region 1. plus there is the smaller events like BMW CCA, american autox series, NASA

should be about 40-50 events if I have the time and $$$ to make 90% of the events...

It should be fun, but I don't expect to be any where near the level of some of the guys that I autox with in the SCCA region.
