So Today at the Acura Dealership
I was standing behind this women who was bringing in an Integra, which she recently purchased used from the dealership(used) in for "warranty work." Or so she thought. This isn't verbatem because the convo went on for about twenty freakin minutes, but it's damn close.
WOMAN: When I put it in reverse, it makes kind of a groan.
SERVICE ADVISOR: When you're putting it reverse?
WOMAN: Well, when I'm backing up and in reverse.
SERVICE ADVISOR: Does it become higher pitched as you speed up?
WOMAN (excited as that the problem was solved): Yes! It becomes louder too.
SERVICE ADVISOR: This is normal. Most manual transmission cars do this.
WOMAN: Um, well. This may be my first manual transmission car, but I've never heard any other cars make this noise.
SERVICE ADVISOR: Maam, I can assure you this is normal. 1st gear sometimes can be a bit noisy as well.
WOMAN: You got to be kidding me. How can this be normal? It's irritating as hell! Can you fix it at least?
SERVICE ADVISOR: Maam we can't fix something that's not broken. It's normal.
WOMAN: Well, at least come for a ride with me so I can show you what it sounds like.
SERVICE ADVISOR (getting a bit pissed off): Look maam, I don't get paid to take rides in customers cars. This is a normal occurence, we cannot fix it.
WOMAN: So you're not going to cover the warranty work?
SERVICE ADVISOR: ...there's nothing to fix.
WOMAN: Fine, I'll take my business elsewhere then.
:slap: Why are people so stupid? I've been to other dealerships before where people refuse to believe something is normal.
I hate dumb people.
