Went on a guys trip to South Beach, Miami FL this past weekend, here's my impressions

All in all, wasn't too great of a trip. Never been exposed to that much racism in one weekend ever. Anyone else had this problem? I guess we're the only Asian's that were there at the time... But, alot of hot chicks everywhere :goodjob:

Yep, not Miami, but Orlando.

Experienced it first hand. Now when I travel there I will only get food to go unless I'm with several of my co-workers. Even then only at national chain places like macaroni grill, etc.

 

Everywhere we went, cars would drive by or stop and scream racial remarks and stereo types. We thought maybe 8 Asians walking around might be a reason, so we split up into pairs and scattered, same sh*t. You think of the racial remarks, we got it. We had some big guys with us, but wasn't worth the fight being that we're on unfamiliar ground.

 

racism? miami has every culture imaginable. i dunno dude, wrong crowd of people or something.

But as far as tje wrong crowd:
We got stare downs from 3 white guys while at one restaurant, a party of white people at another...

Walking in the streets we were stopped by black people harassing us and kept asking each of us how to do kung fu.

An ambulance drove really close by us while we were going to cross the street and purposely sounded his siren in our faces.

Hispanics in cars driving by asking is we did nails, lost count of all the "ching chang wangs"

So it was pretty much equal. Not to generalize or say that "all" south beach people are racists.

As far as Miami having "every culture imaginable", I'd say 80% were hispanic/latin american. Others were black and white and 1% asian. The only places we felt welcome were the one asian restaurant we went to and the strip club :happysad:

 

Man that's kind of odd to hear that going on. Some of the people down south are still stuck in the past huh? its a shame. Were any of the chicks giving you any looks at least?(meaning the damm I want your shit looks) Being a white guy I don't understand why in this day and age why you could be pissed at someone cause of their ethnic background. Red necks

 

Damn, I like how SD is, we have a pretty good mix of all different kinds of races, but also have a fairly large asian community as well. Still get no love from teh asian women h:

 

80% latin, yes, from all parts of the world though.

and yes, not to many people down here are asian

anyhow, southbeach is gay. you get all the dipshits rolled up in a sandwhich in one place. i NEVER go down there. i never really had a problem with what you are saying, but i might just be use to it.

 

Tommy and his crew didn't have any problems this year in SoBe....and he came down with like, 30 asian dudes. :dunno:
You just didn't go to the right places or something...
