I don't mean to go on topic, but this is why I don't like those commercials that blame the tobacco companies. People have free will, even if something is chemically addictive. A cigarette is only chemically addictive for up to a day or two...after that its all your own will power.
I do like the commercials that get awarness of the dangers though...just not one blaming tobacco execs for thousands of deaths.
I smoke, i'd like to quit. It's only addictive at times but it's more of the habit of smoking that makes it harder.
Smoking with beer, smoking after a big meal. Since I associated smoking with those tasks (just a few to give an example) it makes it harder to stop. Also damn refreshing after a big meal.

I quit in June '01.
Over the summer I sort of picked it up again on a not-so-regular basis but when I got back to school I found myself actually buying packs.
Then I realized that was bad so I stopped and only bummed shit off people when I was drunk. But then I would always wake up feeling like shit because of the cigs so now even when I'm drunk when I get the urge to bum one I tell myself no.
Take it from me, quitting rocks.
