Need a program...not warez, suggestion

I need a program to create a list, but so I can type my list in and afterwards have the program sort it into alphabetical order...any clue on what I can use

put it in the column, click the top of the column, hit the sort ascend button.

Excel or Access will both do this....Access is database and Excel is spreadsheet.
