dc relaunched all their titles a year ago with "the new 52" the batman title has been good, nightwing is alright to me, and i like red hood and the outlaws. not a big fan of dc but I am giving it a whirl. jim lee's wildstorm universe is in dc now. wildstorm is no longer an image property. so you will see grifter ad superman teaming up......
marvel just had avengers vs x-men and are relaunching a lot of their titles. some of the good ones for them coming out are Uncanny Avengers (writer wrote uncanny x-force which is marvels best book, look up some of the graphic novels they are awesome.), all new x-men , x-men legacy, new iron man, thor, hulk, captain america, thunderbolts (red hulk, deadpool, punisher, venom and elektra). also a new avengers title in december looks good. if you look up Marvel NOW, you will see a list of titles coming out.
as for image they have a lot of books out there. new cyberforce coming out (first 5 issues are free), invincible, walking dead (which you read already) they have a lot of stuff on their website.
idw has all your nin turtles, transformers, gi joe, rocketeer, ghost busters, etc. some decent stuff
valient is coming back with X-0 manowar and bloodshot
dark horse... they are still around I don't know what they are doing
dynamite has voltron warehouse 13
