Default Looking for a TV

I currently have a Fry's Electronics special, 25" Sanyo color tv $150.

Now that I have a PS2 on the way, i'd like to upgrade to something a lil bigger and w/better sound/picture/features.

My boy is in the Army and he showed me what looked like an insert for Wal*Mart in the sunday paper, but it was actually a catalog of sorts for a store on base that he can get stuff from w/o paying sales tax. They had this TV there for $250

It's a JVC 27" CRT tv

Anybody have any opinions on that tv or can recommend another decent 27" in the same ballpark as far as price is concerned?

So $250.00 is your price you would like to spend? Would you be willing to pay more?

Is that a flat CRT? You can get an Advent 27" flat CRT for like $300 from Best Buy.

Those JVCs are nice though... had a JVC flat tube at my pad last year... good color fidelity for the $270 we paid...

Advent? Never heard of them, well, not as far as tv's are concerned. I know Advent used to make subs.

I like the JVC for $259 OTD

what you do is get a flat tv (not the slim ones) and you cut a hole in your wall and then stick the tv in there. then when people come over they are like "wow" at your tv thinking its a $3000 tv :exnbp:

Yeah I remember Advent speakers from back in the day too. I think some Chinese company bought the brand name and is slapping it on new stuff like tv's etc but I'm not sure.
