So, I'm in the market for my first car...
I don't know what I want. Well, I really want a Cherokee (95 or newer) but I just don't think I'll get a fairly decent one for under $4000. I have almost $4500 in the bank, so an asking price of 4,500 is fine when I could get them below 4000. So, I don't know, throw some ideas my way (I'm near Buffalo NY, zip:14120). I've seen a few 94-97 accord LX's that look enticing. I was at Ray Laks acura and I drove a '98 Galant (It was really horrible, not that it was made bad, it wasn't taken care of and it was horribly slow). I'm used to a Stratus 2.4 DOHC which is slow but it's not THAT slow. How do Accord LX's compare? Maybe I'll just find a used Stratus to buy :happysad:
My parents don't want me to buy a 5 speed because they really don't like driving them and if they have to drive it (my dad is going to be pulling 600+ miles a week with his new job) then it would make it a PITA for them. Oh well.
Ideas?

the amount of money you have really limits what you can get. You want something reliable and a cherokee that you can get for 4000 is going to have problems with it. I would look at accords and civics if i were you

it's your car and your money... so I'd get something you want, but not something you'd be horribly broke-up about if you kill it. If you get a Cherokee, you will get raped for insurance... SUV's are bad, and gas mileage isn't that great either.
An Accord would be a nice choice, more comfortable than a Civic, and you should be able to find a 5th gen for around $5k.
