Will Honda/Acura compete with the SRT-4?
Just a random thought. The days of yore when an ITR was at the top of the compact car food chain are gone. Now I think the Civic Si and RSX Type S are has-beens. They've been upstaged by better performing cars that cost less. What do you think that Honda/Acura will do with the next generation of their compact cars, such as the Civic and RSX, to answer competitor's cars like the SRT-4, Impreza WRX, and Ion Redline?
Indeed...cost. Honda will NEVER have a 250hp turbo car for less than $20k. I've seen the SRT4 in person, definitely cheesy interior cuz it is MOPAR. But then again pretty damn quick for a Neon. At this point, I rather drive the SRT4 than a Civic, even a turbo Civic.
CTR probably still wont be enough.
Honda needs to either start upping displacement or boosting engines to really keep up, both of which is very uncharacteristic of honda. I do like the high rev'ing, but, it can only get you so far.
