Huh? You mean to say that running up and down a court and putting a ball through a hoop isn't worth $76 Million?

This is the same country that puts the faces of "starving children" on the boob tube for you every night. It's f-in' bizarre. I'm glad the man is a talented ball player and he enjoys his diamond-plated Escalade.

You've also gotta take into consideration the amount of money the entire industry brings in. It is pretty shocking, but their pay is about right for the industry, now.. the whole sports thing is crazy on the prices they charge..

someone help me out. 76.7 millions divided into 4 years, divided into the average number of season games.

i understand what you are saying deek, no doubt. but for ONE person to make that much money (im sure theres others that make more) for "entertaining" people is weak man. i dont have a solution or any type of resolution to the problem (if you can call it that)..but theres GOTTA be something wrong when a teacher for example gets less than $40k per year for the first few years of their profession, and a tall guy bounces a ball and throws it in a hoop gets millions.

Exactly.

Hopefully, the moves they made this summer will get them deeper into the playoff than last yearh:

Hopefully, it'll be Philly vs. Sacramento for the title this year.

I agree he deserves it, don't agree that he doesn't deserve that much, but agree that they are overpaid.

Since when does being a basketball player require that you do something special for the world? That's the profession he's in, they have the money to pay them that well, he deserves every penny he can get cause he's one of the best players in the game.

I don't agree that they get paid so much, I think it's rediculous. But you know what, if my profession could pay me like that, best believe i'm gladly accepting every zero they add to my check.

eh, no matter what, their pay scale is rediculous. Yeah, they should get nicely paid, considering how much money they make for the industry, but damn, $10 million a year is a bit much wouldn't you say?

To those who say "it's only a 82 game season" :nono:

these guys are basically property of the NBA as long as they are under contract, be it off season or not. Iverson has always wanted to make a rap album, he finally did it, but the league threatened him when it came time to release it. Had absolutely nothing to do w/the 82 games he plays for them, so how many games they play and how long the season is bears no relevance.
