Default DSL/home network problem...

okay, we use this local DSL company called NETsunami for our apartment. The self-install kit come with the DSL modem and what they call a "switch" to hook our 4 computers up to.

Problem is...no matter what I do, the other guys computers wont show up under my Workgroup (all properly set, I know this) and after 3.5 days connected to AIM continuously...I get disconnected - everytime I'm logged on up until 3.5 days.

Any ideas? I would get a nice Linksys router and use that instead of this CHEAP-looking box...but I'm not sure it's compatible to the DSL modem.

the Linksys router should work with your DSL modem...I had my DSL hooked up to my Linksys router.

Make sure your workgroups match and you have the same IP range. example: 192.168.0.x

All workgroups are the same - I checked them today. I know how to check the IPs on WinXP and the ranges are the same. The other OS's I get lost trying to figure out.
