Ebay Problems...your opinion needed!
On Augest 26, I won an auction on ebay for a Type R Oil pump. Everything went well with the transaction, and I waited for the pump to arrive. One week passes...then two weeks...and still nothing. So I contact the seller, and he tells me that he works with another buisness on parts, and the oil pump might be out of stock...but it should be here any day. I started getting worried, because at no point did he mention in the beginning of the sale that there was a third party, or that there might be an extended wait. So, I wait another week...and still nothing. So I did some research, and it seems that I can file a complaint with paypay..and they'll get on the guy about my product, and in the end, possibly get me my money back. But here's the catch, it run's out after 30 day's after purchase...which is 3 day's from now. So I emailed him again, and told him that if I don't recieve the pump by the 25th I'm going to leave bad feedback, and contact paypal. So he tells me please don't, it could ruin his buisness, and that the pump will be here soon. So I feel sorry for the guy, but I just wanna protect my investment. So should I file a complaint....or wait it out? Any help will be much appreciated.
i made a mistake being so nice all the time. when being so nice, you tend to lose sometimes.
he runs a business, obviously its not a good one, make the complaint to forewarn others and make sure you get dont get ripped.

Tough call. I'm in a similar situation... ordered some mags.. have yet to receive them. I have to contact the seller today.. find out what's going on.
But this has happend to me before...
I got an item almost a year later. (And it was 500... but I was payed in incraments over a month or so.. and had developed a good repore with the woman. So.
A. Since all that time passed.. I couldn't do anything.
B. She was very friendly to me.. and I to her.. so..
But .. I got the item. Ask him for proof that it's being dealt through a third party. I'm sure he has SOME kind of paperwork
Then take it from there.
GOod luck.
Oh.. btw.. the fact that he's still in contact with you is a good sign.

he also can be stalling you. :dunno: regarding me and a business, i would make decisions based on MY best interests. its a business, they need to learn how to run it.
which reminds me...i havent gotten my t-shirt from http://316fabrications.com/flashindex.jsp yet. but i have been keeping in touch with them and am suppose to get it this week. :happysad:

well. it all depends on the seller's rating. did u read all his comments before you bidded? thats what i usually do. so i know what to expect from the buyer/seller. if they're usually late on the shipment but you still get it, then it should be ok. if he has no rating or has really bad ratings, then you need to worry. Also just because you report, doesn't mean you'll get your money back. if you leave him a bad feedback, he might do the same to you. and remember you can't change the feedbacks.
No, I checked his feedback before buying, and they were all positive. That's why I'm apprehensive, becasue he seems like a decent guy. The thing is...it's a really good price on a ITR Oil pump. But I would have paid the extra money If I had bought it locally, If I knew it was going to be this long. That's the last part I need for my damn swap....I'm tired of being slow!
what is the seller's exact feedback? if it is greater than 30 then you should be pretty safe and should just wait on it. i would just wait and when you do get it leave positive feedback but mention how long it took.
ps ebay rules state that the seller has 30 days to send the item if it is not stated earlier in the auction. i usually try to state "will ship 2-3 days after payment is received" and buy from people like that.
