Default I am leaving imports I think

I kinda came to a conclusion today about this whole "scene" thing and what it means anymore.

Just so you don't get me wrong I will still be a part of it all but i guess I need to rant a bit.

I went to a run today that was one of the most enjoyable events I have been to in a long time and it was put on by Class Act which is a custom truck club up here.

No drama, no arguments about rice this or JDM that...it was just good fun. This is something I truly have yet to experience at an import gathering/show/whatever.

Maybe its just where I am at (Oregon sux) or the way I see things, but I think I am going to leave my Accord pretty much how it is and nothing much more and buy me a truck to work on.

Bags, a little bling, and some fun while doing it wqithout all the flakes I associate with the import world anymore.

Fuck the "scene," do it for the cars man. I know that I'm a car guy first and foremost and I just happen to like the way Japanese companies screw together some particular cars.

So hey if you wanna roll in a dubbed out buggy then by all means go right ahead. But if it was me I wouldn't want to do that only so I could hang out with other people in dubbed out buggies.

Hmm...So just wondering. Your keeping your sedan and wagon stock? I agree that it is pretty redicous how the scene is. Agreeing with the rice/jdm/whats cool or what not. It's stupid how you have to have a certain type of "car" to assoiate with.

Guess thats how it goes. :happysad: . Trucks are fun, that's what my dad plans to do with me in a couple of years. Buy trucks fix them up and sell them for fun.

Sounds like the event was fun. Maybe I should of gone. :happysad:

Nah I hear you guys but its hard to have been a fairly decent player in the game up here and not have the drama that comes with it all.

I have made a fairly decent impact around here...offering time and help, space, tools, sometimes even parts....and every time I have been shit on for it.

I dunno...its hard to explain really its not like I am doing it because I want to hang with a new crowd because I hang with these guys anyways...but the bug bit me again and I think its time for a slight change.

I'm still gonna always love imports...I guess ts just I can't get away from the scene without some serious changes being made.

Shows how much attention I pay to that kind of shit.

On the whole "to scene or not to scene" question, I personally don't understand it whatsoever. I mean I like to drive and I like cars that suit how I like to drive. If other people happen to like those same cars then great. But like, beyond that what's the connection?

Maybe I'm just individualistic by nature but to me pretty much anybody who can turn a wrench can help me with projects and similarly I can help anybody else with projects. What anyone happens to drive at any particular moment in time doesn't seem like such a big deal. Because I could be just as happy in a RX-7, M3, 944 Turbo, 240SX, or any other number of things. If I'm driving a Miata does that mean my buddy with a 911 GT2 and I can't shoot the shit over a project?
