the type V has some special active steering mechanism so it helps you keep both hands on the wheels even tho the speed varies. bmw came out with something similar for the new 5ers. i think the bmw one is called active steering control or something like that. or was the bmw one that has power steering that varies... i forgot:doh:

you are confusing variable effort with variable ratio steering rack.

umm even your bmw has variable effort. it's pretty much standard on all their cars now.
the new 5 has active steering which is also variable ratio.
