dude give it up already. I know of several police officers who get over 55K starting.

This is CA not CT, completely different story.

Also guess how much $38K in CT is comparable to in CA? yeah that's right around $50K.

now drop this ish already.

everything in NY is more expensive than CT. NY and Cali are very comprable.
NY as a whole is not more expensive than CT. Fairfield county is the richest county in the US. I just saw this on the news... and that is located in CT. The second was in CA.. NY was third.. don't know what that county was either.

Brian, NY is a big ****in state....

You are wrong about what 38k is worth in CT compared to CA. Its either the same or worth more in CA. I am not arguing the fact that you CAN make 55k starting. I am arguing that his friend without a college degree started that high. And can get that big of a raise within a short period of time.

Fairfield County is one of the richest, if not the richest county in America with on of the highest costs of living. My condo would be in the $300,000-$400,000 range if I put it on a trailer and drove it to Fairfield.

NY is not expensive at all. Parts of Westchester County is pretty comparable to Fairfield County but the rest of the state is all farmland with Albany, Ithaca, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo sprinkled along the thruway. Then you have NYC where the cost of living is absouletly rediculous but it is the few and far between that make all the $$...and at that they are living outside the city where it is cheaper, such as Jersey and CT.

There are some really shitty areas of Westchester County...there is one in Fairfield County and that is Bridgeport, precisely where I am sitting right now.

how am I wrong? go plug in the numbers at any of the hundreds of cost of living calculator on the web.

38K in Stratford CT = $68K in Santa Cruz CA.
