A better way is to park the car than jack it up and put stands under it than take the wheels off. They can't tow it then :rick:

They just put a dolly under your tires and tow you out. They have to use dollies to move front wheel drive cars from the rear anyway.

Depends how close you are. An extension cord, a few extension cords, a generator... whatever it takes. That's what you'd think. I was staying at my friend's place in Richmond, looked out the window, and noticed a new body Prelude was getting towed. The tow truck pulled up behind it, snapped on the chain, and dragged it right onto the truck. It was definatly either in gear or in park, because the front wheels were not rolling.

most tow truck drivers won't waste their time doing things properly. sometimes they will just say "sorry i cant tow it" and find an easier victim.

Also it doesn't matter if you live there or not, if theres no permit on the car to park, its getting towed. We pulled about 15 cars in one night with 3 trucks.
that aint too practicle, ur cars not gonna be there long enough for them to tow it and by that time the guy next to u will be gone. so either way u gonna end up payin more than what it would be for a parking permit, SO PAY UP!
