nevermind.....i found the answer -

"How does Click-to-Run work?
Products delivered via Click-to-Run execute in a virtual application environment on the local Operating System. This means that they have private copies of their files and settings, and that any changes they make are captured in the virtual environment. The effect is they don’t end up modifying any other software installed on the System. With few exceptions, only user data actually passes through the virtual environment to the local System. Click-to-Run users may notice that they have a virtual Q: drive on their PCs, this is the virtual file system used by Office."

 

i coulda told you that

 

now i'm super happy cause when i un-installed office, my barely 1 week old 3tb usb drive suddenly quite working. 2hrs on phone with seagate & it's officially doa....so there went 1.6tb of old tv shows :0

 

format

 

tried that. it gives the tone when you plug a usb device in & then out over & over. when it does that, it appears & then disappears from device manager. when it is there, i clicked format & after about 3 minutes it says "unable to format" & then starts the plug/unplug sound again

gave up & called newegg back & said REFUND damnit

 

i'd just leave it there
