i'd go to bestbuy and look at what they got, just to get an idea of whats out there. then go to newegg.com and buy one new egg got some good deals.

i know that wasnt much help, but everybody's views differ.

whatever you do, dont waste your money on that sony attrac3 crap like i didh:

I got a iRiver. But I broke it at the gym 140 bucks gone.
But when I had it, it was nice. 128mb, built in radio (although the reception sucked), and a built in voice recorder. Small like a fat pen.

oh yea, a warranty is a good thing to have.

i had a creative labs 5gb jukebox a few years ago [costed $400 at the time] and dropped it down the stairs. on the outside it looked fine, but it didnt work. a warranty woulda came in handy:happysad:

I love my 5GB iPod (First gen... I ordered mine 2 weeks after they were announced)... It's good looking, practical and durable (It's been pushed off a desk, and someone else dropped it on concrete... runs great!)
