My friend just got a 5 speed 97 subaru legacy 2.5GT the other day. Ill admit, im a little jealous because its alot nicer than i though it would be. 16 inch alloy wheels, 2.5 horizontally opposed engine, 167 hp, and that good ole subaru AWD system. I know he would kill me on the straights easily....but you think i could keep up with him on the turns after i get my new springs/shocks? All i got right now is some 17s with z-rated continentals. you think with upgraded springs/shocks and sway bars i could eat him up on the turns even with his AWD???

 

knowing how you drive your car > any shocks / springs / sway bars / ........

It'll be hard... Once he gets the hang of trusting the AWD on turns, that's your ass.

 

I really think you would have have a better chance investing in your motor for the straightaway then the curves.
