lol, I don't know if this is relavent, but my friend has a like 1984 BMW 318i and one day we were running some errands and I just stayed in the car while he ran in someplace. The car was off, but it was in gear, I grabbed the shift knob, and I could move it side to side further than if my car was in neutral. This thing was IN GEAR and you could move that shift knob ALLOVER the place, and it was the same in any gear.
Is this normal for a BMW? Cause I really don't understand how it could be possible.

well on a 19 year old car... sloppy shifter in gear huh :rick:
go try the same in a 19 year old MB/Honda/GM/ etc...
it's probably worn and needs the bushings replaced and all that jazz

Let's petition BMW to make a REAL four-door M3!

and I doubt BMW will make a E46 4dr M3. It's scheduled to be replaced in 05-06. Which mean no further development of the E46 is taking place for the next few years.
But you can take the 330iPP and add a s/c. BAM instant 350hp
