800 seems to be about the fastest that I can find on webpages also.

I have an older Compaq Proliant 1850R that has dual PIII 550mhz slot 1 cpus... and I wanna upgrade them. I should probably look to see if the board in there will support that high.

I also have a router/gateway/firewall at my parents house that has a PIII 533mhz slot 1 and I wanna upgrade that too.

No. Not only do they have to be the same speed but they also have to be the same stepping.

IE. from the same batch process.

Having a PIII 500 from one batch and a PIII 500 from another batch, probably won't work.

not with the Slot1 processors... in fact I don't think it will work even with the 370pin versions of the P3 :thinking: but i'm not 100% sure on that.

I know with the Xeon you can :rick:

I was running 1 with 1.8GHz and one with 2.0GHz, but had to return the 2.0GHz since that was for work

jeez i get it....i need to get an extra slot 1 board for that 450

there's so expensive at etailers....ebay has nice prices tho
