Default CAI question.

Ok, I have read in a few mags the ads for different CAI. they say "blah, blah, blah, And it looks better then the old school PVC tubeing."

Has anyone actualy seen someone use PVC pipe for a CAI and the question is. if your not goign to "show" your engine and are just after the preformance, then would PVC do the same job as an expensive CAI?

Just wondering. I have never heard of anyone useing PVC pipe as a CAI.

i dont know the exact temperature. but when PVC heats up to a certain temp, it gives off toxic fumes. i dont know if i want that sitting right next to my engine.

my friend had a pvc CAI setup on his accord!! but i dont know if it was better or worse than a real company brand CAI!! my guess it would be worse since the material used is better on a company brand CAI and i believe PVC is thicker and has rough edges in the ends!! but thats just my guess

Oh, Ok, thanks for the info. I figured that witha company CAI they have the tube bent just right as to give the most air flow, and with PVC you cant realy bend it like you can the CAI.

Thanks again for the info.

yeap ... that is true, and it doesn't take a long time either.

you're better off with dryer duct hosing if you wanted to escape the crippling cost of a generic eBay intake.
