The official "screw work" thread
So I walked into work today. I drove back from college to work...that's a good 35 minute drive + around 30 miles back and forth from my house to work. So I get there and I'm not scheduled to work today OR the rest of the month. I ask the kitchen manager about this because I had said I would work on Sundays. He replied, "We agreed that you'd tell me what days you could work and then I'd schedule you. I haven't heard from you since then." See...I shouldn't have to tell him AGAIN that I wanted to work Sundays! I told EVERYBODY in that resteraunt about that deal! I HATE STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!!!! Anybody else want to rant about getting forked over at work?
you owned yourself
you told him you'd let him know when you want to work then you didn't tell him. im sure he's got other shit on his mind than just remembering when you said you want to come in.

No...I told everyone that mattered in that establishment (owners, head cook, and him) that I wanted to work every Sunday from now on and they approved of that. I told him I'd talk to him about what Saturdays or Fridays I could work.
How's that? The fact that I told them, "I'm going away to college and will come back and work on Sundays. I will contact you about working on select Fridays and Saturdays if I can." shows a lack of responsibility? I'm trying to see it from your POV...but I'm not seeing it.
