Wow, that's nuts if true. Dude was so young. As a Broncos fan, I had the requisite hat for how good he was on the field with the Chargers. But he always seemed like a good guy and I had a lot of respect for him.

Why would it not be true?

"tmz" branding I guess.

tmz breaks news sports / celebrity news faster than CNN.

There's been several celebrity death hoaxes over the last few years that have started mostly on Twitter/Facebook etc. While TMZ does seem to have the inside line on anything related to celebrities, they don't quite have the fact-checking reputation of the more traditional news sources. At the time you posted this I googled Junior Seau and only the TMZ link came up -- there hadn't been any official announcements and not many other sites had picked it up.

Regardless, it's everywhere now and looks legit. RIP Junior.

Head injuries are no joke and can cause all kinds of long term damage we still aren't sure of.

I have met and talked with several former NFL players (mostly from the late 70's) and they all said that when the career is over you are used up. Arthritic hands, shoulder injuries, leg injuries, multiple concussions etc. all causing constant pain daily. They also complained of regular or constant headaches as well as regular migraines which is probably due to the concussions (duh) and they are now finding (finally) that multiple concussions may lead to severe depression issues.

Bummer to see him take the 32 cent solution but it was his decision and only he knows why he did it.

Sounds like the other dude that shot himself in the chest not that long ago so researchers could study his brain...and the effects of these helmet to helmet hits that happen all the time. Seau was way too cool and calm of a dude to do this without something seriously being wrong in his head.

This^^^
I didn't have day to day access to him but i knew him and his family well!
I have my speculations
But i prefer to honor junior the compassionate human being.
Word can't express what he and his foundation has done for the city of San Diego/Boston.
R.I.P Junior
