So? That's really bad logic btw...Actually, for a Miata, that temp IS showing high...they all tend to measure 'cooler' than normal. People who have no real racing experience point out things like 'temp gauges' etc. For all he knows I could have been doing that on a Dyno with 2 industrial air-conditioners blowing on the engine. Ask him if his temperature shoots to HOT everytime he floors it on the freeway. 
And he shouldn't...Mitata's redline (fuel cut) at about 7200.
