I could see this used at fitness facilities and maybe the fairgrounds but not really anywhere else...

As it exists today, absolutely not.
But when we run out of developable land, something like this could well work.

I for one, see these being hitched together, either physically or by functioning as a modular, electric monorail.
You'd order a car with Siri on your iPhone 250GS, tell it where you want to go and so on.

I hope to be long dead and buried by then...
