Default college experience?

guys, i have a bit of a dilemma. i just started college on monday at benedictine university(IL). which happens to be in the same town i live in. i am currently living at home and have now started to want to live on campus in a dorm. i think i will meet a lot more people this way and have more of a college "experience", but it is also stupid to live there when i live in the same town. i plan to go to ISU after this year. and i know i will be in the dorms down there with my good friends. i know alot of people there. my problem is that i kind of regret not going into a dorm at Benedictine even though i live close. what do you guys think i should do?
Nick

get in the dorms if you can. i live 25 minutes from my school, and i'd never trade the opportunity to enjoy the social factor of school outside the classroom.

living in a dorm would be too much of a PITA for me, I'd rather rent an apartment..

there are other places to meet people and make friends...

don't put that extra financial burdon on you/your family just for the sake of it being easier to meet people...you've got to make an effort.

i hate living in a dorm right now, especially when its 85+degrees all day inside.

Next year i'll prolly go off campus with a car if i can park on campus
