Default What were his parents thinking???

Oh wait they weren't thinking...

Kid on the train was talking about his car, a 2003 Cobra SVT that he got before he started college. He's a freshman and said he was 18. He is paying $500 a month in insurance, well his parents are.

Why the f*ck would you give your 18 year old kid a $40k car that they have to pay gobs of money on for gas and insurance.

uhh maybe because they have money and can spare...i personally think if i had the moeny and my son was a good kid with excellent grades i would give him a car like that, if he deserves it though, but of course with the condition of no tickets and speeding otherwise i take back the car...thats what my parents did to me untill i was 18, lucky it has kept me away from tickets for 3 yrs so far.

My dad offered to buy me a car and I declined because I would rather earn my own car. When you pay for your own things you tend not to destroy them as quick.

Theres a difference between a 3k car that cost 100/month to insure than a 40k car that cost 500/month...

yes your right but still...if he is responsible then thats coool, i mean i would know if my kid deserves it or not. My friend drives a 2000 ML 320. His parents bought it but he drives it, he pays the monthly payments of 700, and also services the car. He's responsible and straight A student. I think he deserves it, nothing wrong with that.
