but I used to have my own non-profit organization in college :happysad: we never had money left over at the end of the year. we had our own tax exempt id and everything :rick:

h: now you are going into territory that i dont understand. :dunno: :happysad:i just know the grant people give us a certain amount of money to do certain things within a certain amount of time. if we have left over money, we have to tell them what we want to do with the money. when they approve, we get to spend it. and if we still have money left over after the grant is over, the money doesnt roll over. it just disappears from us in a sense. i dunno though. i never did grant writing or proposals.

grants usually are restricted in how it can be spent. unless your a super famous research scientist, then you just use the money to buy a few 911s (like my gfs old professor did :chuckles: )
