I used to use the Zone Alarm popup blocker thing... didn't do too well (that was also a year ago) then I switched to popupstopper pro... worked for most of em. Then I got the Google Beta Toolbar a month or two ago and had that and popup stopper pro working... still didn't get em all and I had problems with them blocking good popups.
Then I found a site that did reviews of popup stopping programs... best one Popup Block. http://www.popupblock.net/ One of the best things about this one... the website can't tell you're using a popup blocker. They can with other types.
Gets all of the bad popups... none of the good. It's really the best one I've used.
