I'm on my brother's new computer at home, and whenever I have Kazaa open it is conflicting with IE. Whenever I open IE and try to type in the address box it gives an error report and shuts down IE. I close kazaa, and IE works flawlessly. I have tried reinstalling Kazaa and still the same problems. Any ideas?

which kazaa are you running? try to run spy sweeper on there to see how much crap kazaa loaded on your computer.

Did you happen to download Imesh as well? I know that has some sort of Spyware that causes conflicts with IE. And it's a PITA to get rid of. Took me an hour to track down the right software.. and that was almost two years ago.. so.. what little I can remember might not be any help... but if it gives you an IE error code... try typing that code into a search engine and seeing wht it comes up with.

Also.. is it the newest version of IE... I'm assuming yes since it's a new comp.

uninstall kazaa, download a spyware check and zap all the spyware kazaa loaded in the system, and do a google search on kazaa lite. This is a spyware free version, which also includes some really cool cheats, like a constant 1000 user level. Here's the version I use:

I started running Diet Kazaa thinking it would help, but it didn't. I also ran a spyware check, downloaded all the Windows updates...still having the problem.

 

I have found the only way to really get rid of kazaa is to reformat my hardrive. I have a really crappy computer 400Mhz celeron and 256K of RAM, and my laptop is a 333Mhz pentium with 216k. Kazaa would not work properly until I reformatted my harddrive and downloaded and installed the lite version I listed above. Now it works perfectly. It's a great article on tweaking the xp system (I'm assuming you're using xp, you did say "new" computer).

 

how about delete that kazaa and install the kazaa k++.
