Mazda buying their RX8 cars back??

Default Mazda buying their RX8 cars back??

any of you guys hearing about Mazda screwing up on this new RX8??? I hear there is no power after 6000 rpms... and they started to buy their cars back......

This sounds way too similar to when the '02 Miata came out with a new "160 hp" motor with variable valve timing, etc. The cars turned out to be not making the 160 hp and Mazda re-rated them at 142 hp (a whole 2 hp more than the '99-'01 version of the motor). As a recourse to buyers Mazda offered to buy the cars back, give them a $500 check or one other thing I forget. Nobody sold their car back.

It was supposed to be a 155HP engine, not 160.

$500 check, an extended warranty including free oil changes or a buyback were option.

Apparently the auto makes 197 hp and the other one makes 238hp.

Hmm so that's 13 and 12 hp down for the auto and manual, respectively. Perhaps the motors need to be broken in a little bit before they reach their full output rating?

nah that doesn't sound right. Sounds like they over estimated their power ratings. Maybe the emissions here in the US robbed more power from them :dunno:
