Default Question about MX3...

Yeah, yeah, I know it's a honda board... the question is for a guy I work with...opinions are needed...

He has an MX3 with i/e... he's thinking of either doing a swap or getting it turbo'd... which would you do? Yeah, it's an MX-3... but at least it's not my car.

Swap hands down.

The engine in those things are weak unforgiving turds. With swaps I have seen them turn some pretty fair times over.

I think the Mazda 2.5 liter V6 is the same external dimensions as the 1.8 V6 and bolts right in. If it's the I4 MX3, it might be easier to go turbo.

My brother has an MX6 with a 2.5 V6. In Japan they have an engine called the KLZE which has like 200hp and bolts right into the MX6/Probe/626. Supposing the MX3 had the same engine mounts as those other cars that would be one mean engine to put in it. I think they go for about $1200.
