just brought it home

all my personal belongings are gone including a respectable tool bag of tools
stock wheels, spare, carpet covering spare (they cut it), floor mats, red H, and si badge are gone
there is body damage on the driver side door, steering column is cracked - perhaps they tried to get the airbags. wiper arms look replaced, more dings here and there, exhaust tip and that hook thing where you can jack up the car from the rear are scratched, and its pretty dirty inside
there is almost 2k+ miles on the odo
vin tags are scratched off and the door tags were sprayed over. but the dash and firewall numbers are still there
plates are gone and replaced with a Goudy Honda paper + frame
cup holder thing is still there but outlet plug is gone
motor feels ok but the clutch is stiffer than before and i have real trouble getting into reverse
and they added tinted windows and did a pretty good job :thumbup:

turns out it was the cholos across the street. alhambra pd had been watching the house for a while. the car was parked in the driveway under a tarp. once in a while someone from the house would drive it. they caught the guy at about 1030 tues morn and they wouldnt tell me the circumstances or details of that incident. i might be subpeonaed to testify in court but i wouldnt be able to id the guy(s) that took the car so im afraid i wont be much help there. i had my insurance paper in the car when they took it so there is a chance they may pay me a visit but the detectives said they are a pussy gang, 15 heads at best and a bunch of small guys - ive seen them - and they also said they are all talk. yesterday they raided the house with about 20 swat but didnt find anything. but they did get a guy who wasnt involved in the theft on some other charge and said hes going to state or federal.

so thats that for now. ill have to let my adjustor know about the car and im not sure if ill let it go yet.

 

If they pay you a visit, let me know....I'll roll up.

i would probably let it go because of principle. unless you want to sell me the engine for cheap. :rick:

but its much less than 80% of the cars worth to fix so i dont think it will be a salvage

Damn man, what's wrong with people?
As happy as I am to hear they recovered it, that they beat on it is just awful..:sad:
I sincerely hope things turn out for the best.
