Sonicare...really works too. Dentist told me I had very little plaque and then asked if I was using such a brush.

sonicare. I use this one:
Amazon.com: Philips Sonicare HX6711/02 HealthyWhite 710 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush: Health & Personal Care Amazon.com: Philips Sonicare HX6711/02 HealthyWhite 710 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush: Health & Personal Care

If you get an amazon subscription you can get 3 brush heads for ~18 vs 30+ at other places.

correct. you ROI in 1 year easily. well at least I did at the rate I go through brushes. I use the polish mode 2times a week. It does work well, specially given that I'm guzzling down 5 cups of coffee every day.

I really did not think the sonicare brushes did better than the oral b in my mouth. I felt that the actual rotary motion cleaned my teeth 75% better than the pulsing motion from the philips. Luckily, my dentist accepted the philips back and I went back to the Oral b.

your mileage may vary.

Probably also has a lot to do with how well you brush in the first place. I go in for cleanings twice a year and my dentist didnt mention about plaque or anything.
