Default Dessert Eagle .50!!

Has anyone here ever shot this gun before? Haha just the name of this gun sounds intimidating....i was doing some reaseach on pistols and stuff because i want to get a pistol. I found this one, but talkin over with my friend who knows his shit about guns, he told me its illegal to shot anyone with this gun, even if i dont kill em, i'd go directly to jail. Apparently armor peircing .50 caliber guns are considered "excessive force" Who knew? hehe I'm looking for a range that has this but its hard, i guess it does alot of damage. My friend said that shoting this gun about 10-20 rounds will leave you acking. Pushins a 5'5 210 lb man back 3 feet. i Guess its the .5 more caliber and the 6 inch barrel. any info or thoughs?

Why would you be shooting anyone, anyway?

edit: And isn't it illegal to shot anyone with anything.. except in selfdefense?

No no i dont plan on buying a gun to shoot someone, i jsut mentioned to my friend that i liked that gun, he's really into self defense and all that and said that even in self defense, .50 caliber is considerd excessive force. i'm tryin to look online for this and see if i find anything backing this up.

I never shot one before, but I would love to try though. I shot a .45 before....and it wasn't a big deal. I could still hit my targets from 40-50 feet away with no problems. 50-70 I may be off the mark a little bit....70-90...ok...getting there. 100 feet? I might miss...LOL

I am not sure if .50 calibers are armor piercing though. Unless you're talking about the 50 cal used by the military on their tanks and humvees...but those are not handguns.

heh yea i shot a .45 glock before, it moved my hand a bit but nothing big, but i think the back pressure on the .45 glock is like 27 lbs or something, compared to the 67 lbs of a .50 dessert eagle! thats insane!! i saw used one for 800 bucks.

I've shot the .45 as well as .50

the .50 will not throw a 220lb man 3 feet. I don't know where they came from.
even the .45 only has a little more recoil than a typical 9mm.

DE has a special rotating bolt (might be the wrong part) similar in concept the MP5s which absorb a lot of the energy.

however I will say that after shooting approximately 100rounds both my arms and hands were numb :happysad: and it cost us (me and my friend) around $90 each. since we had to use Fiotchii (sp? I know this one is wrong) rounds.

wouldnt it depend on the barrel length, maybe he shot one with an 8 in barrel or something? Also where did you go to shot this gun? and why was it SOO expensive? thats insane 90 bucks. would that type of rounds have less of a recoil?

:eh: You sure the DE .50 is 67 pounds?? Dude...it's a handgun. I held one before and it wasn't that heavy.
