Default What to do with my car

I'm a poor college kid who makes just enough to pay bills and have a little bit saved to get other stuff. I think if I forego all the unnecessary things right now I should have about $3k or so by next summer.

Do I put the money into savings and use it to pay off my student loan or get stuff for my car. Its the first nice car I've had and probably will be the only one I have for a long time. The thing is I just saw my friend's Vette and the awesome setup he did with a touch screen display and pc. Everyone is like "Dude that is awesome." but he has the money to spend because well he's got rich folks and I know that if I did something like that I could do it 10 times better.

Argh I hate rich parents who spoil their kids.

Maybe split that in half

Half towards the car.. then half towards savings. (Or student loans)

Well I've always felt guilty about spending money because I never had any. Heck it took me 3 years before I could convince myself I needed to upgrade from a Pentium 1. Groan... why couldn't I be born with a silver spoon in my mouth like half the kids in school. Its like living in shallowville because everyone likes the friend with the Vette and most people are like "Oh there is Sean, he can't even afford a decent car." :madfawk:

Don't evn worry about that... they'll grow up knowing no satisfaction of working towards something and having it be truly yours.

Yeah but the issue is most of them work because their folks know the right people. I ain't in talking terms with my folks, my brother is an Industrial Engineer and my sis in law is a Support Coordinator for the county so they know nobody in my field and even if they do I'm screwed because I ain't a US citizen. Almost makes me wonder which jackass decided to have the nationality system going coz each year I find a job only to hear "Oh you're perfect for the position but we only want US citizens."

Right now 6 years because the system is so damn slow. My parents applied for me back in 2k and well they are processing stuff that was done in 1994. That or I find some American chick to marry, dammit why can't they have American mail order brides. h: Or if some company takes me in and the system gobbles me up. If I go the first route then I'm probably gonna be responsible for wrecking my brother's marriage since my folks stay with him and they are a royal pain in the ass to my brother and his wife.
