Last Sunday morning when I got home from work(around 01:00) I've got a message on my machine that my grandma(dad's mom) had to have a triple bypass. Well, this news wasn't good, she had a stroke a few years back and was pretty much fully recovered from that, but she's still 79. Anyways, I went down to Kansas City to see her(2.5-3 hour drive from Omaha) and what I heard before I left wasn't the situation when I got there. My dad, who flew up from San Antonio, and I thought that she was off a ventilator and getting better... but when we got to her room she was back on the venitilator, and had an external pace maker because whenever her heart rate went below 100 she was getting an arithmia and going into vfib. Monday she was in and out of sleep and I got to talk to her a little, but with the ventilator it was hard to communicate with her too much... well, tuesday afternoon I came back home... Friday morning my dad calls and wakes me up.. my grandma had a massive heartattack overnight and died. It really sucks when you get an early phone call and you just know what it is before you even answer it.... and as soon as I heard my dad's voice I knew what happened.... I don't know, those of you who've experianced the feeling know what I'm talking about... So tomorrow I'm going down to the farm to be with everyone, then go to the funeral on monday. The thing that makes things even worse is that now my grandpa is going to be alone, and he was totally dependant on my grandma, it just makes you kind of think of what's going to happen. I can't really imagine what it'll be like for him, he's not in the best health, and they really took care of each other. Their is family that lives close enough to visit everyday, but it's hard not to think that his health is going to suffer from this.


I don't know, sorry to waste your time, just needed to vent..
I finally bought a suit like I've wanted to for a while now.. I jsut wish it was for a different reason.

Sorry to hear that Was she a big part of your life? And was her death a big change for you?

 

I used to spend time with her in the summers.I've got a ton of memories... I used to enjoy getting to go pick beans...
