Default Spent the Weekend Under the Jeep

Had to do an oil/filter change, change the front and rear diff oil and the transfer case oil. I wish they would standardize the drain and fill plugs. Oil drain plug is a 13mm hex bolt. Transfer case drain/fill plugs require a 10 mm allen wrench. Front diff drain/fill plugs require a 14 mm allen wrench. Rear diff has a rubber fill plug and no drain plug (have to pump the oil out or take the cover off - and use RTV to make a new gasket). I'm guessing they are just making things difficult so you have to pay the dealer $1000 to do something that costs $200 in parts, tools, and materials.

Ouch. I feel your pain. I had to buy a couple of new allen sizes to change the transmission oil on my Xterra. It was a big pain, as I'd set aside some time to do it and then got under the car only to discover that I didn't have the right tools. Didn't have 'em at Autozone, so I had to order them online.
